Ken's book was a good starting point for me as a partner of an incest survivor. I read it cover to cover. Ken describes incest and its effects clearly. There are also some good practical suggestions about support for partners. I read this book along with use of other support such as a web site for partners of survivors, and together these gave me the courage to talk to my partner about how I feel in the relationship. Reading books like this really helps me to feel I am not alone and that there is hope for change and healing. If your partner has suffered incest, and you are looking for support, I would recommend that you give yourself this book.

This was the first book I read on the subject - I am a survivor. It quickly made me realise the enormity of the situation and my husband who is now reading it is become more aware daily of the effects of incest abuse. Its length and clearly defined topics allow it to be read learnt and inwardly digested at your own speed. It is easy to navigate and return to when you are losing your way with your battles.

Of the books written about survivors of sexual abuse/incest (and I've read almost all of them over the past 25 or so years), Ken Graber's Ghosts in the Bedroom is the finest and clearest I know of for partners of incest survivors. It is concise and well organized, and it raises and addresses questions that those who love, or are in a relationship with, a survivor need answered. I recommend it highly to anyone in such a relationship and also to those men and woman who are themselves victims/survivors of sexual abuse and incest.
