Sibling Abuse:  Hidden Physical, Emotional, and Sexual Trauma
by Vernon R. Wiehe

Most books that talk about child abuse are from an adult’s abusing children point of view.  For those of us who were abused by a sibling, it's difficult at times to relate to these books.  It's also difficult to find information dealing specifically with sibling abuse.

"Sibling Abuse" uncovers all the secrets.  This book identifies all three forms of abuse, discussing each one separately.  It also covers all the effects the abuse has on a survivor.   It confirms for us that what we experienced at the hand of our sibling was beyond sibling rivalry - it was abuse.

The book also has an excellent chapter to help parents determine if abuse is occurring among their own children, as well excellent advice on preventing it in the first place.

There are many references to studies and published works and lots of statistics, which can make it sometimes a little boring to read, but the rest of the information makes up for that.  Definitely worth reading.
