Thanks Jamie - another really well-written piece. I wish I'd read it 20 years ago, but I hope others will benefit from reading it - and despite being so much further down the line than I was even six months ago, there's advice in there that's still relevant and a good gentle reminder.

I wonder if sponsor status could last for a limited time. May be logistically difficult or impossible but I was pretty surprised that I donated £20 in 2011 and still had the perks in 2025.

Do you have to be a registered charity to get gift aid? The PayPal fees aren't much but it annoys me that if I donate £10 elsewhere they get £12.50 but you only get £9.50ish!

I think this is a really difficult one to answer because my feelings about it change so much. Therapy is without a doubt the hardest thing I've ever done, but it's also the biggest non-essential financial commitment I've ever made, and I guess I wouldn't keep spending the money if I didn't feel it ...

I said I don't know because I haven't been diagnosed, but i'm pretty sure I do. From what I know about depression, I'd say it matches how I am at the moment. Until I get a proper diagnosis tho, I don't know. Other than when I was living abroad, I've pretty much been like this for the past 10 years.
