My HAVOCA Trek

Postby Carrie » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:16 pm

I haven't quite achieved it yet, but it didn't appear to fit anywhere else .......

I have booked myself to go, all by my ownsome, on a fundraising trek to raise money for HAVOCA (well it will be with a group, but I am going on my own if you see what I mean).

So between 16th & 20th of May I will be trekking 55km to the summit of Mount Etna in Sicily, the highest active volcano in Europe at 3,350m. We will be sleeping in mountain huts on the way up - the nearest I am prepared to get to a tent, even for HAVOCA!

If anyone would like to sponsor me I have set up a paypal account at havoca.trek@btinternet.comso money can be transferred directly into that if you have a paypal account. I have produced a flyer & sponsor form with all the details about what I am doing so if anyone wants a look or feels able to use these to request sponsorship from anyone else, just drop me a PM with an email address and I will be happy to forward them on. I am paying for the trip myself, so everything donated will be coming directly to Havoca.

Havoca means a lot to me so I want to do the best I can to raise some much needed funds, but the trip itself is also a big thing for me. I am quite adventurous anyway, but I have been with my hubby since I was 18 & I really want to try doing something alone, just to see what 'me' is like, so it's part of my journey too I suppose.

I'll keep you updated with how the money is going!

Thanks
Carrie xx

Carrie

I am glad to read your update about your treck to raise funds for Havoca.---well done you---brilliant.

I would urge everyone to get in touch with Carrie to receive the Flyer and sponsor form, the flyer is

really good.---I am sure that we all can get some sponsors --so hope that you will all help to make

Carrie's great effort a real financial success for Havoca.

She will be taking a tiny Havoca blanket with her----the squares are being knitted for you Carrie :P :P :P

Thank you all, if you don't have a paypal account you can use Jamie's donate button where you can pay using a credit/debit card without having an account. Or if you want to send me anything, cheque, stamps, M&S vouchers, whatever, I can let you have my address.

Thanks again

I can't stress enough what a fantastic opportunity this is for HAVOCA.

If Carrie meets anywhere near her targets we could be financially secure for many months to come.

Please please consider sponsoring Carrie and canvasing support from friends and family to do the same. This isn't just your opportunity to give back but also everyone else's.

Way to go Carrie

I have finished the teeny tiny blanket Carrie --so watch out for that

arriving. Will decorate it tonight and get it in the post in the morning.

What a fantastic thing you are doing for Havoca--the least the rest of us

can do is support you.
