Great well done guys.

Perhaps the people that have already sponsored Carrie can come on here and post like mad to encourage others to do the same.

This is an excellent opportunity for the site and I really don't want to be the only one drumming on about it.....so help me out, to help Carrier out, to help HAVOCA out..................................... :salute:

I think it's fantastic what Carrie's doing, a brilliant opportunity for Havoca.
I'm struggling financially but decided to walk everywhere for a week and sent my busfare to Havoca.
I lost 3lbs into the bargain....... win win situation !

Was going to do the same this week ...... hadn't expected snow this morning
Ah well .... better get the wellies on

Good on you Carrie.

Few things in life are free and it's not a question of us all digging into our pockets and donating huge sums of money. It's about us all giving what we can - so that this place can continue to be the support that we have all found when we have needed to be here.

Every donation matters and this like FS says is a fantastic opportunity to sponsor someone we know so others may continue to benefit in the future.

Turn it around and ask yourself where you would find the support which is offered so freely on these boards if Havoca was no longer here?

Over £600 now!

Please please please ... if you said you would sponsor me, please do. & if you haven't decided yet, do anyway.

Every single penny will be coming to Havoca, so it doesn't matter if it's only a pound, it all adds up!

Thank you

I will add the cost of a therapy session - end of the month though, pay day !

Was thinking could we do a local tin rattle! Would that be allowed ? Or doable?

Just thinking of ways to raise some pennies !

I will have a look at ways to raise

I'm going to ask the lady that runs the beauty salon I go to if I can put a tin & a poster on the counter for a few weeks.

I think you need permission to shake a tin in public, but I'll check. Also - those collecting tins seem really hard to get hold of - I might have to ask the charity shops to loan me one!

it is illegal to rattle a tin as it is deemed by law to constitute begging. if you have a tin you mustnt shake it. you need council permission for the day(s) you wish to collect on the streets. probably better as you say carrie- in a salon but maybe to do a name the teddy where you make a sheet of say 100 names and people pay and write their details on the square and win teddy...or guess sweets in jar... it kinda speaks for itself then.

i have said i will sponsor but am just waiting for an answer on remortgaging to further fund my c... so the moment i get the thumbs up (hoping i do) i will do.

well done carrie for such a fab amount so far... can you share your itinerary with us please?

Here it is!
Your first night will be spent in a mountain hut at Piano Provenzana (1,800m), followed by two days' trekking (covering 35kms) across the Pista alto montana, the circular path around Mt. Etna.
The Pista alto montana is only the warm up for your main challenge. After this circular trek you will take a cable link from 1,800m to 2,500m and continue to trek to the top of Mt. Etna. Your 8 hour trek will be accompanied by a specialist volcanologist guide who will inform you about Etna’s historic activity.
On summiting you receive your reward; a complete view of Mt. Etna with an amazing panorama of the four craters at the top and incredible views of the Eastern coast of Sicily.
You will descend to Sicily’s capital city, Catania where you will enjoy a fine celebratory dinner.

Here's the link to a video done by the company running it

p.s. the salon boss has agreed - & I promise not to rattle anything
