Re: Sponsorship
You could always post that the lack of funds is driving 'certain members' crazy.....!!

Re: Sponsorship
What about on the sign up page having the option to donate a monthly amount? Options of £1pm £5pm ...
Dunno.
Ongoing revenue is better I presume as we’re not starting from zero each year. Engineer it backwards based on average number of new peeps a year and costs etc...

Re: Sponsorship
One other idea might be to set up an Amazon Affiliate link on the main Havoca website. If someone clicks the link and then buys something from Amazon, Havoca would get a small kickback. So, if any forum members want to buy something from Amazon, we could go to the main Havoca website first, click the affiliate link, and then make our Amazon purchase. Then Havoca would get a small donation.
If you sign up for affiliate programs in various countries, then you can even link your accounts together and just use a single link for all countries. So, if someone from the UK clicks the link, then they'll be directed to Amazon UK, a Canadian will be directed to Amazon Canada, an American to Amazon USA, etc. (as long as you have affiliate accounts in all of those countries).
Depending on what people buy, the kickbacks can be very small or fairly large.

Re: Sponsorship
Thanks to all the new sponsors and the sponsors who continue to donate! Its much appreciated.
We have to renew the domain name, again, so anymore contributions gratefully received. I'd like to renew for as long as possible - cheaper in the long run. So if we can raise £200 ($300) that would be amazing.
Can you help?

Re: Sponsorship
I'm not sure if I should post here or not...
but this thread upsets me...
We need to ask ourselves...... what is this place worth to me?
For me, it's worth the world...
When I came here, I was desperate... suicidal... isolated... terrified... depressed... lonely - soooo lonely...
For me, it was like coming home...
It was safety....
It was comfort...
It was company...
It was support...
It was a net to fall into...
It was a safe place to come to...
Jamie isn't asking for a fortune...
He isn't asking us to sign away our lives...
Just....
If we all made a small donation that would be enough....
I don't know anyone's circumstances - and if you really can't afford it then please ignore this post...
but... the price of a bottle of wine... a pack of cigarettes... a drink in the pub... chocolate... fish and chips... a burger...
I need this place - I really do.....
And I need each and every one of you...
(I wan't asked to post this - it really does come from the bottom of my heart...)

Re: Sponsorship
Thank you!
And don't worry, this place isn't going to go under....I just need help running it. If everyone donated 50p that would be a lot of money

Re: Sponsorship
I didn't mean that this place is about to go under.
What I meant was, I was thinking about what this place is worth to me....
and if we all consider that then it might help.

Yes and I thank you for your post. It meant a lot to me to read it. I was just re-assuring people we weren't in dire straits - your post hit the nail on the head though and asking others to think what it means to them is an important question.SunshineSmile wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 8:59 pm I didn't mean that this place is about to go under.

Like I said 50p isn't much (to most people) and if you can afford to donate then please do.
