Ive written this article, from the heart, in order to express my own feelings about the 'place' I ended up. In sharing, I hope others may look for the signs of depression and suicide in loved ones, friends and colleagues. I also hope people continue to talk about Mental Health issues as though they were just another 'run of the mill' ailment.

I talk about these issues almost everyday in my job and you're absolutely right, the more you say the words the more familiar/easier/comfortable they come! This should not be a taboo subject it is a very real part of life for alot of people. X

All too often the poorly brain will see suicide as of benefit to the key loved ones whether it's the financial implications, seeing themselves as a burden with whom the loved ones will be better off, or emotionally. "They will be better off without me".

It's not the case. It's the wounded brain talking. The loved one's want you around, not just memories.

I've thought a lot lately about when I was suicidal - back in my teens which I have written about, but also when my daughters were young. I saw my depression and blackness then, as me becoming evil again and as a result, as me turning into my father, and truly felt that they would be better off without me.

I can identify so much with what you have said. It's actually helped me make sense of my thoughts - thank you...
