Pen to Paper

Pen to Paper

I wanted to put pen to paper today
It’s really not that easy
Figuring out what i want and need to say
It’s making me feel measly

Attempting to put my thoughts in some order
It’s causing me to panic
Straightening out the levels of disorder
So i won’t be so manic

It’s not as though I’m writing against the clock
Trying to find a purpose
I just can’t seem to shake this old writer’s block
Escape from this mad circus

I’m not worried about the reception
Try anything to survive
Trying to gage the depth of my perception
When two and two maketh five

Get the thoughts in the realm of the external
In a world that is bloody
Sowing the seeds of my book in my journal
Engaging in self study

The best ideas disappear as if vapour
I can’t seem to understand
I can’t translate the image to the paper
Holding the pen in my hand

Why now im focused, is it so hard to think?
My head is not in study
Transferring the thoughts from my head to the ink
This water is so muddy

I wanted to put pen to paper today
Now i feel less uneaay
It turned out o.k.; i found something to say
But it really wasn’t easy
