Kilkenny Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre

Free, professional and confidential counselling and support for survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse.

Established in 1992, The Kilkenny Rape Crisis and Counselling Centre provides a safe, non-judgmental and discreet space for female and male survivors of childhood sexual abuse, rape, and sexual assault and harassment to avail of one-to-one counselling and support.

We also provide support counselling for non-abusing relatives or friends of survivors affected by abuse.

Those in need of counselling for sexual abuse, counselling for rape, counselling for sexual assault and harassment, can contact the Centre directly, in absolute confidence.

We also accept referrals from professional third parties including Doctors, Social Workers, the Gardai or a number of community, voluntary and statutory groups in the Kilkenny area. We also work closely with the Sexual Assault Unit in Waterford Regional Hospital.

– 24 Hr Confidential Helpline

– Long or short term one-to-one counselling for male and female survivors of childhood sexual abuse, rape, and sexual assault and harassment irrespective of whether the abuse is recent or in the past.

– Support counselling for non-abusing relatives or friends affected by abuse

– Accompaniment of survivors on visits to the Doctor, Gardai or Court, if required

– Psychosexual therapy for individuals and couples experiencing sexual difficulties

– The SAYIT (Safety Awareness Youth Information Training) Programme offered to Post Primary Schools (Transition Year Students and above) covering Bullying, Self Esteem, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence and other related topics.
