Procedures in most organisations require that one be nominated and seconded to become a candidate, after which a vote takes place. However, in this case it's all in one.

The member of the year award has helped me remember that I'm not entirely useless, and I'm proud to have the badge. It tells
me that there are human beings who value me. That isn't something I'm used to. I was over the moon when my name came up.

Just want to say that

Ditto Actnormal - way back in 2000 and something (can't remember the year now!) I felt similar.
