Post by Jamie »

People should “choose to be around those who honestly fail [them], not those who dishonestly deny they hurt [them] and have no intent to do better” (Boundaries, Dr. Henry Cloud). Thank you so so so so much for this, Jamie.

I've struggled for so long, as long as I can remember, at least since I was fostered, age 15/16, with the feelings of loyalty vs hatred towards/against my mother.

All I wanted, all I needed, was acknowledgement, apology and a promise to try to be an ally, if she couldn't be a mother. Just an acknowledgement.

What I got was denial, victim blaming and a smear campaign that made her entire family blame me and pity her.

I don't understand.

All I ever wanted was a mum who loved me.

That article really helped.
