I've noticed members replying to old posts, some of which are years old. There's nothing inherently wrong with replying to an old post, however , when you randomly reply to topics that have long been resolved and involve people who are no longer registered on the boards, it can create confusion, especially if there's nothing new to be added. Even if the original poster is still a member, it can still be confusing because that individual may have moved on from that discussion and/or the usefulness of the thread has passed.
If you read an old thread and feel like commenting, it may be better to start a new thread of your own. When doing so, consideration should be given to remaining agnostic of the thread that inspired you. That way the OP doesn't have to be involved unless they choose to.
For those of us who like boundaries, I would suggest that a thread that hasn't received any 'activity' for over 1 month is probably considered too old. There are two exceptions to this. Firstly, if the OP would like to rekindle the thread they are at liberty to do so. Secondly, if the original thread is just a generic question eg What is your favourite healing book etc.
Thanks for understanding and helping keep our forum organized and engaging!
