Healing the Child Within - 26th Nov 22

Hi all,
I'm Edane, a Manchester International Festival Sounds Artist who is holding a concert at 26 November 2022, 1:30pm (Saturday) at Manchester, UK to raise awareness of types of child abuse and their impact towards adulthood.

I'm so excited to share with you the concert trailer:

The concert features three animation films, all originally produced and speak about real stories of survivors of child abuse. We're featuring amazing works from participants from Havoca in the film, Not Silence. Donations of the concert are for Havoca.

Our international partnerships include French, Italian animators, Malaysian Cartoon Artist Mokumentary and the concert will be professionally recorded.

We've never been alone on this journey and I'd like to kindly invite you to the concert. I will be so delighted for your support and to meet you there.

Wow that was the most incredible experience you could hear a pin drop! I particularly resonated with the learning to breathe through your nose as rapists don't check for life signs with hand over mouth/nose. Also the importance of giving time and attention to our children and not being "grade/achievement" focussed.

The imagery of the child's hearts filling and being erased also so powerful.

The lasting image for me.....the little girl learning to walk, the apple of her parents eye. Nurtured, protected. How can it go SO SO wrong from there....


Future projects.....suicide prevention particularly amongst domestic abuse survivors...I have a contact who is heavily involved in that if you want it.

Are the videos going to be able to be watched for eg on YouTube? I was trying to explain to hubby about them and the content but it would be easier if I can sit down with him to watch them

I forgot to add something that's really stuck with me from yesterday......."It's not a pissing contest on who had it worse.....a single act of groping can have as much a devestating long term affect as multiple events of various abuses"

I think I'm gonna keep remembering that as I always feel guilty for being like I am when I know much mote horrific serious things happened to others compared to what happened to me.
