University Student Researcher - looking for volunteers.

This is where you will find calling notices for volunteers, participants and helpers for different projects across the globe. HAVOCA always checks that ethical approval is in place before allowing research to be conducted here. HAVOCA always does its best to try and guarantee the ethical, moral and legal position of the researchers but ultimately it is down to the individual to make sure they feel safe volunteering and taking part in any specific requests. If in doubt ask.
To advertise in this section please contact the Trustee, you will need to provide an outline of the study, ethical approval from an authorised board and a contact number of a relevant supervisor.

University Student Researcher - looking for volunteers.

At HAVOCA we value requests from students. We find research for projects, articles and interviews help to spread the word. The following request was received and verified this week by us. If you think you'd like to help then please PM me with your details, including and email address and I'll direct the researcher onto you. Many thanks.

My name is Sarah Pusey and I’m a third year Psychology student at London South Bank University.

I am currently in the planning stages of my dissertation and am aiming to investigate:

“The relationship between our childhood sexual experiences and the shaping of our sexual desires in later life.”

This research question aims to explore any possible relationships between sexual experiences throughout childhood, such as child sexual abuse and witnessing sexually explicit material, and one’s sexual experiences and attitudes in later adult life.
Participants will be asked to complete four key components; the first two will be computer based assessments to test participants attitudes towards sex and to measure participants degree of behavioural control. The final two components will be hand written questionnaires, the first to obtain information about participants sexual activity in later life through the sexual compulsivity scale, and the second to examine childhood sexual experiences.

I have sought and obtained ethical approval from the Department of Psychology’s Ethical Approval Panel, and I adhere to the strict code of conduct for human research published by the British Psychological Society.
