Good points Jessie. We're in danger of making this overly complicated. But at the same time it's given me a greater insight into people's concerns and highlighted things for myself.

For example, I find sending PMs excruciating most of the time. Guess it's putting myself out there to be rejected or ignored. Whereas you can plaster my name on a map and I'm good, maybe that's me wanting others to make the first move.

I've been keeping an eye on this map as it's taking shape. One thing I've noticed is the sheer number of people in the UK versus the few on the North American side of the pond. I know this is a UK-based forum and I knew North Americans were in the minority, but I thought the split was more in the 60-40 range. Feeling a little lonely out here right now; I gotta say. :(

Sorry to hear that. Take a look at our survey results - you'll notice a big swing towards the US.

I'm in Canada, but it's good to know there are more on this side of the world.

I wonder if people in Canada and the US are just less likely to post their locations on a map because our countries are so incredibly big (in terms of land mass), so there's less likelihood that we'd find any other forum members in our geographic area. Just a thought. I could be way off-base.

Just bringing this up again - I'd like to continue to populate the map. So if you feel safe and can send a location (approximate or exact) then let me know.

Thanks

We are really keen to add to this map.

Not only does it show other organisations how wide spread the problem is, but it also shows survivors that they aren't alone.

See more details here.

Please PM with your location (approximate is fine) and the name you'd like to appear next to the pin.

Lets make this work!

Thank you.

I put data in and it didn't work. Don't see me on there. Could be I stated an area rather than a specific city? I don't want to pin point my location.
